Chairmaker / Industrial Designer / Occasional Farmer
Field & Found Chairmakers is an emerging workshop and teaching space located in Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula. Nick is an accomplished Industrial Designer who amongst full time design work has spent the last 7 years studying Windsor chair making both locally and in America. With 5 years of teaching experience working with students at Monash University the transition into teaching chairmaking comes very naturally and something that Nick is very passionate about.
From 2024 you will find Nick in his home shop working on his personal chairmaking practice whilst running workshops with a strong focus on moving toward more teaching in the following years.
“Chairmaking is something I have wanted to call my job since I was 15 years old. Now, 20 something years and a lot of life deviations (experience) later I am moving closer to making that a reality. I have a real drive to teach this wonderful trade to others and to see it live on for generations to come, a sentiment that has been instilled in me by good friend and master Chairmaker Glen Rundell.”
